Just joking, we haven't made it to the beach this summer but I thought I would do a little catch up on some of the fun things that we have been doing. This was our camping trip that we took Memorial Day weekend. We went to Lake Roosevelt where there was so much sand we felt like we went to the beach
This was the view inside the car as we packed up to head out. When I say packed up I really mean it. On the way back we packed the car differently so it was not so cramped for our little guy in the back seat.
We camped near the Dam and they had the lake drained really low because they were expecting so much run off. There was a sand bar that under normal conditions in the summer is a swimming area. I thought it would be really fun to make it back there and see what it is like now. Maybe we could swim a little too.
We borrowed a tent and a cooler from some friends and the weather turned out to be really nice. We were expecting cloudy conditions and then it got really hot. We didn't pack any summer clothes so we had to go buy some shorts.
This is our view from the campsite. I was really pretty but it wasn't what I was expecting because their website said it was a place where you could hike and gather fire wood. When we got there there were few trees and there was no hiking. Unless you count walking the sandbar as a hike.
Our little guy had a lot of fun. He did well with the fire, he could sit near it but was a bit afraid of it. Which I liked. He is really funny though because he really likes vehicles. I imagined him getting excited about s'mores and the tent and the dirt. Instead he was excited because he could walk around, and around our car. The whole time that is basically what he did. He loved it and at the end when we were packing up he got his goal, to sit inside and pretend to drive. The little bugger didn't even eat a single s'more.
